Former GB Surfing Chair and Independent Director, Dave Cove, has stepped back from the GB Surfing Board after more than six years of outstanding service to the organisation.
During his tenure as Chair, Dave led GB Surfing (formerly British Surfing) through a transformative and historic period for the sport. Most notably, he oversaw the successful UK Sport funding application that secured government investment into surfing for the very first time. This landmark achievement, delivered alongside his fellow Board members, created a genuine performance pathway for young British surfers with Olympic podium ambitions.
After stepping down as Chair, Dave continued to serve as an Independent Director, providing invaluable support to current Chair, Vicky Gosling and the wider Board. His leadership, insight and unwavering commitment have helped shape the strong foundations the organisation stands on today.
