Last week, GB Surfing’s Performance Coach, Luke Dillon and Progression Squad surfer, Pat Langdon-Dark welcomed one of our GB Surfing Community members, Ben Long, for an exclusive surfing experience at The Wave in Bristol.
Ben, the first surf fanatic to join the GB Surfing Community, spent the afternoon immersed in the high-performance environment of GB Surfing. With two sessions in the pool, he received coaching from Luke and in-the-water support from Pat, gaining a rare insight into the training behind Britain’s Olympic surf journey.
“It was incredible to spend time in the water with some of our best surfers and also hear what a massive difference the GB Surfing Community makes to the athletes and our chances of medals at the Olympics,” said Ben.
Luke added:
“We are extremely grateful for the support Ben and the wider Community provide. With LA 2028 firmly in our sights, the funding and backing from the Community are essential to maintaining world-class training environments, equipment, and support for our athletes.”
