GB Surfing has selected the three male and three female athletes who will represent Great Britain at the 2024 ISA World Surf Games in Puerto Rico in February.

Sky Brown |
Arran Strong |
Alys Barton |
Luke Dillon |
Lauren Sandland |
Stanley Norman |
The squad was selected in line with GB Surfing’s selection criteria. Sky Brown has had an excellent season competing in the Asian WSL Regional Qualifying Series (RQS), finishing 7th overall which included a superb second place finish at Cloud 9 in the Philippines. Sky’s 7th place finish means she is the top-seeded British athlete in the RQS.
Alys Barton finished 11th in the European RQS with a number of hugely impressive results including a second and third place finish against a vastly experienced field, and therefore qualifies for the ISA team as the top ranked British female in the European series. Sky and Alys are joined by Lauren Sandland who confirmed her place in the squad by winning the GB Cup in October.
It will be the first ISA World Surf Games for Sky and Lauren, while Alys competed earlier in the year at the 2023 Games in El Salvador.
Arran Strong and Luke Dillon both qualify as the highest ranked British surfers in the European RQS and Stanley Norman gained his place in the squad by winning the GB Cup. Stan produced a stunning 9-point wave in the dying moments of the final to cement his victory demonstrating his class and temperament in high-pressure competition.
Lucy Campbell and Patrick Langdon-Dark have both been selected as non-travelling reserves.
The competition features some of the best surfers in the world and provides the final opportunity for surfers to qualify for the 2024 Olympic Games. We will provide further details on the competition and how to follow the team in Puerto Rico ahead of the event early next year.
