The 2026/27 WSL Qualifying Series season gets underway this week with the Caraïbos Lacanau Pro on the southwest coast of France. Lacanau’s powerful Atlantic beachbreak delivers fast, hollow peaks breaking both left and right off shifting sandbars.

The men open in Round 120, while the women start from Round 64 when the action gets underway on Wednesday.

Seven British surfers are in the field, headlined by Lukas Skinner, who started the year well with a win at the Morocco Mall Junior Pro Casablanca, where he produced a perfect 10-point ride, and he returns to Lacanau having finished 5th here in 2024.

In the Women’s draw, Belle Betteridge arrives at Lacanau in good form following a strong performance in the Pro Junior Quiksilver ROXY Junior Pro Capbreton last week where she made the semi-finals.
